Lawyers acting for Qualcomm, the maker of processors for Smartphones and tablets have threatened several media publications including SmartHouse, claiming that we recently revealed trade secrets relating to the Companies future direction and that we should immediately remove the information from our web site.
In a story posted yesterday we revealed how US web site Electronista had posted a leaked document revealing that Qualcomm, who is in a pitched battle with Intel, Samsung and AMD to deliver future Smartphone and tablet was working on a new c1.2 GHz single core processor that integrates modem capability and adds an Adreno 305 GPU.
We revealed that the MSM8960 should be released late 2011 and that Qualcomm is claiming that the new processor will set new benchmark for high end devices, and that processing speeds will be 150% faster than its rival ARM’s current processors.
In the USA several web sites included images of a leaked Qualcomm presentation revealing their future processor direction, 4Square Media did not publish the images. We chose to report the information contained in the documents which is why we are not removing the original story.
