Australian IPTV fledgling Quickflix has poached another senior Telstra content executive to boost its management team.Andrew Lambert, Telstra Media’s GM, business development and content reportedly left the carrier on Friday to take a newly created role of executive VP at Quickflix.
He is the third high profile ex-Telstra exec to join the company’s ranks in the last two months.
Justin Milne, former head of Telstra Big Pond and Telstra Media, joined the company as deputy chairman after Quickflix acquired BigPond’s DVD rental biz. He was followed one week later by Chris Taylor, formerly a director of Telstra Media, who was named Quickflix CEO.
Milne has said Quickflix aims to build a business offering both mail delivery of DVDs and an online service. He said this would differentiate it from BigPond – which aims to go online-only – and possible US-based newcomers such as Hulu.
