Hard-core gaming brand Razer and computing innovator Intel announced today a strategic alliance with Shanda Games, leading online game developer, operator and publisher in China.
Shanda Games is responsible for many hit titles, including the MMORPG Legend of Immortal, Dragon Nest and World of Legend, all of which will be optimised for Razer’s Switchblade User Interface concept. The said concept is a lightweight notebook, with a touchscreen and an unconventional keyboard designed with optimal gaming in mind.
“The Razer Switchblade concept takes advantage of the Intel Atom processor, providing the performance needed to run 3D PC games in a small and light form factor, and enabling mobile gaming at significantly less power than a traditional laptop” said Bred Graff, Intel’s consumer and marketing director of their netbook and Tablet group.
Razer’s CEO Min-Liang Tan believed the new relationship will tap into the mobile gaming market.
“True PC gaming on a mobile platform is now possible with the Razer Switchblade,” he said.
“With top Chinese game developer Shanda Games joining our growing list of software partners optimising their games for our concept platform, gamers can look forward to more of their favourite games to be available for play on mobile devices.”
Razer’s CEO looks forward to the day when Massive Multiplayer Online (MMO) games are available on mobile devices without compromising performance.
