Razer, a company for gamers by gamers, are continuing to expand their gaming hardware with the debut of their high-performance Sila router for PC, console, and mobile.
They claim Sila offers more reliable WiFi connections and features mesh networking, aiming to eliminate the need for continued wired connection for gamers.
Razer is using a proprietary “smart traffic management” tool, Razer FasTrack engine, which enables users to prioritise bandwidth when too many gaming applications or devices are in use. Plus, the option to enable Gaming Mode eliminates interruptions while gaming online.
The Sila has built-in detection for PlayStation, Xbox, and Switch consoles, so users can easily fine tune their networks for the smoothest gaming and streaming experiences.
Featuring Multi-Channel ZeroWait DFS technology, the Razer Sila scans and automatically switches you to the best channels so you can always avoid congestion.
To increase Wi-Fi coverage, you can link multiple routers to create a Hybrid Wireless Mesh. Two Sila routers will cover up to 6,000 sq ft, a third will cover up to 9,000 sq ft or several storeys.
The router also has a dedicated 5 GHz backhaul, which should deliver strong performance across the mesh network, leaving other bandwidths open for maximum speed.
Sila has a built-in switch for wired connections, although it only has three LAN ports and a WAN port. It has a USB 2.0 port and a USB 3.0 port for connecting external devices, such as printers and storage devices.
Razer’s Sila is available now from AU$439.95.
