The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus have resonated with consumers as Apple announces a new record, 4+ million orders of both smartphones in the first 24 hours.
Apple has smashed previous day one iPhone pre-orders records and has announced that “demand for the new iPhones exceeds the initial pre-order supply and while a significant amount will be delivered to customers beginning on Friday and throughout September, many iPhone pre-orders are scheduled to be delivered in October.”
The Company has also additional stocks of both smartphones set aside for walk-in customers on Friday the 19th of September from 8am in its retail stores, while Telstra, Optus, Vodafone and other carriers including “select Apple Authorised Resellers” will also have a limited supply of iPhone 6/6 Plus stocks on Friday.
Apple CEO Tim Cook has unsurprisingly made the kind of statement he would normally make at this time of year when in the new iPhone cycle, stating: “iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus are better in every way, and we are thrilled customers love them as much as we do.

“Pre-orders for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus set a new record for Apple, and we can’t wait to get our best iPhones yet into the hands of customers starting this Friday.”
Aside from the list of countries already known to be getting the iPhone this Friday, 20 more countries will get the iPhone from next Friday the 26th of September, including Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Qatar, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey and United Arab Emirates.
Both new iPhones naturally have a range of better features than the iPhone 5s and 5C including larger screens, better cameras, more storage options, faster internals, better 4G LTE chips and plenty more.
There’s also iOS 8, the latest version of Apple’s mobile operating system which will be made available free of charge to all iPhone 4S owners and up, iPod Touch 5th generation owners and those who have the iPad 2 or better or the original iPad mini or better.
iOS arrives on September 17 in the US, which will be September 18 for Australians due to the usual time zone differences, although the iPhone 6 will go on sale September 19 local time in the first series of countries including Australia.
As Apple states, the iPhone 6 comes in gold, silver or space grey, and will be available in Australia at $869 for the 16GB model, $999 for the 64GB model and a new 128GB model for $1,129.
