And like its Fetchtv IPTV offering, the telco is also lowering the cost of FRITZ!Box equipment including its WiFi USB stick.
From today customers can rent AVM FRITZ!Box 7270 and 7390 routers and FRITZ!Fon DECT handsets on a 24-month contract, rather than paying outright.
FRITZ!Box 7270 can now be rented for $9.95 per month, the 7390 for $14.95pm and the DECT handset for just under $5.
And if you want to purchase outright, the routers now cost $50 less than previously and $20 has also been chopped off the FRITZ!Fon handset.
The 7390 now costs $349, the 7270 $249 and the DECT handset is now priced at $109.
The routers incorporate an integrated ADSL2+ modem, high speed Wireless N access point, sophisticated VoIP and landline phone system with answering machine, DECT cordless phone base station, USB file & print server and more.
Internode has also cut $10 from the price of its FRITZ!WLAN WiFi USB Stick to $79.
Internode product manager, Philip Dempster, says the rental scheme was introduced following demand.
“This has proved popular with the Set Top Box for Internode’s FetchTV IPTV service, so we’ve introduced it as an option for customers who prefer to rent FRITZ!Box routers and hardware.”
FRITZ!Box bundle pricing has also been slashed by $50 – the FRITZ!Box 7390 + FRITZ!Fon DECT handset now costs $449 while the 7270 + FRITZ!Fon DECT handset is selling for $349.
