Major retailers in Australia along with Smartphone carriers appear to have run out of stock of the new Apple iPhone 4S.
A survey of several retail outlets reveals that many including Optus and Telstra are taking orders for the new Apple offering after the Company said that they sold four million units worldwide in the first three days of sales, demand for the iPhone 4S is now outpacing the supply, analysts say.
Apple is still promising 1-2 week delivery for all online orders, which is fortunate for consumers, since the iPhone is virtually unavailable in stores. A check of in-store availability at several stores reveals that many have resorted to taking contact details or even deposits.
The same situation applies in the USA where Best Buy has resorted to not stating how long customers should expect to wait for the iPhone. It has been estimated that customers have to wait as little as one week to as long as one month.
