For those in the dark about Honeycomb update, here’s a taste of what’s to come:
· Full support for Adobe Flash Player 10.3
· Resizable widgets for further customisation of home screens.
· MicroSD card reader
· Support for USB-connected peripherals and accessories (keyboards, game controllers and digital cameras)
· Expanded Bluetooth features to support headsets in Google Talk video chats
· Picture Transfer Protocol Feature support to enable easier transfer of photo files to your PC without the need for drivers.
· A file manager app allowing you to easily navigate through your storage.
“Motorola Xoom customers will be able to do even more with their tablets thanks to the introduction of new Android Honeycomb 3.1 software – which is set to be made available to all of our customers in July,” Telstra confirmed today.
And demand for the Xoom, launched here last month has been strong says the telco, and the Honeycomb 3.0 tablets have been “flying off shelves around Australia since they went on sale,” Andrew Volard, Director of Telstra Mobile Products said on the blog posting anncouncing the Android update.
Software testing is to kick from next week customers will be able to download the update directly to their Motorola XOOM over Wi-Fi.
