Being in the media business one is constantly on the phone more so on a mobile than landline and whether I am interviewing someone or listening to some spin from a PR Company, I find that constantly having to pick up a mobile to answer a call or having to make calls using a speaker can be a real pain.
And that’s where the new Jabra Evolve Headphones really kicks in, especially for someone who is constantly on the go and wants to eliminate background noise, while also craving a comfortable pair of headphones that fit comfortable on the head for long periods of time.
Designed for the open office the Jabra Evolve 75 headphones are not only ideal in a loud noisy office environment I found them incredibly valuable on the road especially at an airport or airline lounge.
The first thing you notice is that the noise cancelling is excellent, the headphones block out most background noise, which is not surprising as they are made by European Company Jabra, who has a heritage making hearing aids and in ear devices.
Overall the quality is excellent and the design outstanding, for example all one must do, to mute a call is flick the microphone arm up. Both the ear cups and the overall headphones are made from premium material which is essential for a device you could well use five working days of the week and for several hours.
The other big standout is the charging dock which while being unique in that the right headphone can be simply docked for charging it is cleverly designed to fit comfortable on a desk. One can also charge the headphones without the dock by simply plugging in a separate charger.
The headset is the latest addition to the successful Jabra Evolve Series which has sold over 2.5 million units worldwide.
The headphones come in a neat compact case that is small enough to easily fit into the pocket of a travel bag as they are extremely lightweight at 177g.
They deliver high quality sound and once you activate its noise cancellation feature, you block almost all the outside distracting sound especially on an aircraft though I would like to see more than 14 hours battery life.
The leather ear cushions, are very comfortable especially when over the ears for an hour or more.
When on a call you will quickly notice that these headphones have extremely good speakers for both music they deliver HD voice for crystal clear calls, this technology is built into several new generation smartphones as standard.
I even listened to a Netflix Full HD Movie with these headphones after pairing them with an LF TV.
Dual Bluetooth connectivity supports calls and music by allowing the user to simultaneously pair the headset with two connected devices.
The headphones have a wireless range of 30 metres for notebooks and 10 metres when connected to a smartphone.
These headphones are also configured to be integrated with leading unified communications (UC) platforms including Skype for Business and Cisco certification.
Connecting to a PC or smartphone enabled with Bluetooth is straightforward all you must do is hold the Bluetooth activation button for 4 seconds.
