Today, the Ricoh GR Digital inherits the superb image quality that made the award winning GR series so popular. Featuring 8.13 effective megapixels and 1/1.8-inch CCD, it delivers the superior quality that professionals demand. Depictive power is further ensured with an f-stop of 2.4 and a new image-processing system.
Further maximising lens performance is the new GR-Engine image processing system. Through supplemental processing of adjacent pixels it is able to create the smooth, natural curves seen in film photography. Image-pattern analysis suppresses any variations in auto exposure (AE) and white balance (AWB) to ensure accurate blacks and whites.
During long-term exposures, heat and light sources (which can cause noise) are kept to a minimum. This enables long three-minute exposure times for capturing detailed pictures of the night sky or other dark subjects.
The GR Digital is also the first compact digital camera to offer a twin dial. Aperture is adjustable at the front while the shutter dial is at the back, ensuring a high degree of operability and flexibility when shooting in manual mode. The GR Digital also offers a bright 2.5 inch LCD with high definition 210,000 pixel resolution and 100 per cent field of view for accurate framing.
Adding to its versatility, the camera can be expanded to meet a variety of photographic needs. Optional accessories include an external viewfinder, wide 21mm conversion lens, external strobe, cable release, hood and filters.
The GR Digital retains its classic, retro design with a diecast body and leather inlay handgrip. It is available from October 21 at an RRP of $999
