Ring’s Battery Video Doorbell Pro has been designed to contain features similar to the wired Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2.
One of the key new features is the company’s radar-based 3D Motion Detection, which is the most advanced type of motion detection, according to sources.
It lets the user select the exact area they want to detect motion, for instance, locking it down so it triggers in the front garden, ignoring movement on the pavement or street.
It was found to significantly reduce the amount of alerts received, reducing notifications to just the important ones.
The feature also enables Birds Eye View, which adds a small satellite image to the video feed, showing the direction the person / object took when it triggered the motion detection.
The Pro edition of the Ring Video Doorbell Plus, comes with the same 1536p video, up from 1080p, delivering a sharper image.
Ring is promising a new Low-Light Sense technology, which will help the doorbell shoot colour video at night, and to achieve this, all it needs is the “illumination from a streetlight or landscape lighting.”
As with other products from Ring, this Pro doorbell requires a Ring Protect subscription to get the most out of it, and users with a plan gain cloud storage for the video, as well as package and people detection.
The Ring Battery Video Doorbell Pro will cost £199.99 (approx. A$387) and will be available starting March 20th, 2024. Australian pricing and availability are still to be confirmed.
