Multi-room audio and video specialist, Russound, has released a range of audio controller-amps to the Australian market through its distributor, LeisureTech.
Multi-room audio allows you to listen to different music in different rooms at the same time from one system.
|CAM6.6 S1 Kit|
First up is the CAM6.6- S1 ($6500), a six zone, six-source audio controller, meaning it can distribute six audio to six listening zones simultaneously. It comes with six Uno-S1 five-character LCD keypads.
The CAM6.6T- S1 ($7500) is a six zone, six-source controller but it also includes an AM/FM tuner. It comes with six Uno-S1 LCD keypads. The system is expandable up to 36 zones and has RNET capability (Russound’s communications platform), enabling direct communication with other Russound devices.
For consumers who are after a slightly lower price point, Russound is offering two options. The CAS44L ($4000) is a four zone, four-source audio controller at 40 watts per zone. The kit comes with four PKL keypads. This controller is scalable to eight zones by connecting two CAS44s. Users can adjust bass, treble, balance and volume from any of the PKL keypads. It is also possible to hook your iPod up to the system.
For extended zone coverage, the CAA66L ($5000) is a six zone, six-source audio controller at 40 watts per zone. This kit also includes six KPL keypads. Like the CAS44L, it has an RS232 port for compatibility with home control systems, and you can connect your iPod to the system. It is expandable up to 36 zones, but keep in mind that the CAA66 and CAS44 can’t be combined to create a 10-zone system.
Russound’s Andy Lewis said, “Russound’s controller-amplifiers have been popular among homeowners who have wanted to experience true audio fidelity throughout the home. The CAA66 and CAS44 extend Russound controllers’ benefits so customers have more home audio choices at a more affordable price.”
Interactive online demos of the systems can be found on the Russound Website.
