Stand out infinite plans include their $65 per month option, with an added phone instalment of $10 per month for the phone over a 24 month period. The $65 infinite plan includes infinite national calls and text messages, 2GB of internet data allowance and $65 worth of credit for international calls, 13/1300/1800 numbers and voicemail.
Those after a cap plan will find the $49 cap a standout, with a $10 monthly instalment for the handset over 24 months. The cap includes $550 worth national and international voice calls, national video calls, SMS, MMS and 1.5GB of internet data. National calls between other Vodafone or 3 customers are free.
“We’re offering the Samsung Galaxy Nexus on our great range of Vodafone plans, including Vodafone Infinite and Vodafone Caps, and we are very excited that our customers will be able to enjoy this on our new 850MHz network built for smartphones,” said Ross Parker, Vodafone’s General Manager of Devices.
The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is one of the most anticipated phones to be released yet, primarily because it will premiere a new version of Google’s Android operating system. Android has benefited from incremental upgrades before but the latest Android Ice Cream Sandwich (4.0) will fuse the capabilities of Google’s tablet software (Honeycomb) with the existing functionalities of their current mobile OS (Gingerbread).

As a result, the same Android 4.0 can be used on a tablet and on a smartphone, facilitating a seamless user experience. Vice President of Telecommunications at Samsung Electronics Australia, Tyler Mcgee, said “The Galaxy Nexus is the first Australian handset to feature Android 4.0 (Ice cream Sandwich), bringing an entirely new look and feel to Australia’s largest operating system.”

Vodafone’s head of Corporate Communications, Greg Spears, expects the Galaxy Nexus to be shipped from the 16th of December. Spears warned shipping will take 2-3 business days, causing the first batch of phones to be received by the 21st of December.
Although Vodafone will have decent stock levels, Spears was unsure if it would sufficiently match the demand, saying “time will tell.”
“I think it’s one of the most anticipated android smartphones this Christmas and we expect strong sales.”
His advice to customers was “don’t delay, order now.”
