Samsung Australia has confirmed that it is set to launch a new netbook running the new Chrome operating system.
At a launch yesterday for several new Intel based Samsung notebooks, the head of Samsung IT, Phil Newton, said that Samsung Australia will introduce a Chrome-based netbook into its line-up later this year that will have built-in 3G Wi Fi capability and 12-hour battery life.
The device will be similar to the new Samsung N210, which has a 10.1-inch LED display screen, he said.
It will come standard with 2GB of memory and at least 64GB of hard drive.
Newton said, “We will be expanding our range shortly and we will have a Chrome-based notebook and new tablet PC’s soon.”
What is not known is which chipset the new device will incorporate, with some speculating that it could run the new Qualcomm 1.5MhZ Snapdragon processor.
