Samsung Confirms Galaxy S9 Won’t Launch At CES 2018

Contrary to the barrage of recent rumours, Samsung executives have confirmed it’s “unlikely” the forthcoming Galaxy S9 smartphone will be unveiled at CES 2018, in Las Vegas next month.

Samsung’s executives made the comment to the Korea Herald, adding speculation that the company may debut its ‘foldable smartphone’ – dubbed the ‘Galaxy X’ – at CES instead.

The Galaxy S9 smartphone is tipped to be largely similar to its predecessor, boasting minor updates such as a dual-lens camera, Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 processor and transferring its fingerprint sensor to a more accessible location.

Following Samsung’s admission, several market commentators predict Samsung could unveil the S9 at Mobile World Congress, with others tipping it may be afterwards, but somewhere between February and March nonetheless.
