Samsung Electronics has launched its world-first curved gaming monitor in Australia, with the new 27-inch CRG5 pledging advanced performance within graphic-intense games.
Other new additions include the 49-inch CRG9, powered by QLED display technology with a 120Hz screen refresh rate.
The CRG9’s “dramatic” 18000R curve claims to offer “crystal clear detail” within its 5120 x 1440 display.
The new CRG5 boasts a 3000:1 contrast ratio with a focus on speed. The CRG9 provides an immersive widescreen experience.
The 49-inch CRG9 will release late August for A$2,599, with the 27-inch CRG5 landing late September for A$599.
“Our curved monitors are designed to create a field of view that displays content right up to the edges, so gamers can take in all the action,” claims Phil Gaut, Director of Display and Memory Solutions, Samsung Electronics Australia.
“With the introduction of two new curved monitors, Australian gamers now have more options when it comes to finding the monitor best suited to their style of play.”
The CRG5 showcases a minimal bezel design, with a near edge-to-edge screen on three sides.
Consumers can set pre-set display options for any game genre via an on-screen digital menu, or easily switching between up to three separate display profiles.
“As a team we find the curved design allows for easier viewing during long game play sessions,” asserts Tim Wendel, Head of Esports, Legacy Esports Australia.
“With killer refresh rates, the technology also allows for incredibly precise and accurate movement on screen.”
