With 2View dual screen LCD technology, the new PL150 and PL101 offer a variety of updated features, which include 720p video recording, couple shot feature, updated Children Mode, Self timer mode for video, and large rear LCD screens.
Samsung Australia’s Digital AV Marketing Manager, Sagar Dave said, “The introduction of the Samsung 2View camera in 2009 was one of the most successful digital camera introductions in Samsung’s history. The ST550 and the ST500 broke new ground and surpassed industry expectations thanks to a combination of technologies that directly addressed how people take pictures today. We’re proud to add to the momentum generated by the launch of these cameras by extending the 2View family with the PL150 and PL101. These cameras bring new features to the range and are available at a competitive price to accommodate a wide range of budgets.”
The new Samsung 2View PL150 and PL101 feature a 1.5-inch colour LCD screen located on the front of the camera. The 1.5-inch front LCD can now be used to frame video in addition to digital stills. With the PL150, users can enjoy 720p HD video recording at 30 frames per second (fps). The new 2View cameras also allow users to have more fun with the dual LCD screens thanks to the addition of the Couple Shot feature and the updated Children Mode with music.
Enhancements have been made to some of Samsung 2View’s most celebrated features on the PL150 and PL101, including updates to the cameras’ Children Mode and Self Timer. The Child Mode will now also play music to better help capture a child’s attention in order to snap the perfect picture (additional animations are also available for download at the Samsung website).
In addition, the PL150 and PL101 now have an auto timer when recording video, so that the entire group will know exactly when the camera is rolling. Both of the cameras include the popular Smile Shot feature, which will automatically trigger the cameras to take a photo when a smile is detected. The addition of Couple Shot allows users to set the camera to snap a picture when the subjects in the frame tilt their heads toward one another.
The new Samsung 2View PL150 and PL101 come fully equipped with a true colour-filtered 12.2 megapixel CCD, 5x optical zoom, a 27mm-wide angle lens, and Advanced Dual Image Stabilisation (IS) technology.
The PL101 features a standard 35mm lens with 3x optical zoom, and is paired with Digital Image Stabilisation. Both the PL150 and PL101 feature large, rear LCD screens with resolutions of 230K-pixels. The PL150 features a larger 3.0-inch rear LCD, while the PL101 features a 2.7-inch LCD.
The Samsung PL150 and PL101 are available now for $299 and $279, respectively.
