A story in the US this morning claims that Samsung is planning to release a high-end version of its Galaxy Tab tablet that will cost close to $1,000 the same price as their current model is being sold for in Australia.
In the US the same model Galaxy Tab that is currently on sale in Australia costs $599 Vs $995 in OZ.
The new $1,000 USA model will include a Bluetooth headset and leather case. There are no changes to the physical design of the tablet.
Shown at a recent Millionaire Fair trade show in Europe, Samsung is expected to formally announce the “luxury” tablet this week. It is not known whether the accesories will be offered for free in Australia in light of the current $1,000 Samsung price tag.
Since it was released, Samsung has sold more than a million Galaxy Tabs in comparison Apple had sold 4.19 million iPads in the same period.
