The new Samsung WB500 features a wide angle lens and 10x optical zoom, allowing users to take panoramic landscape shots or close shots any time.

Samsung Australia’s Digital AV Marketing Manager, Sagar Dave said, “We are upping the ante in 2009 with a large and compelling range of digital cameras. We’re especially pleased to announce the WB500 flagship model; which is the first compact to be launched with 10x optical zoom and a 24mm ultra wide lens in Australia. The WB500 is designed to deliver better images through innovative technologies and an array of advanced features.”
The WB500 also hosts a range of modes and features such as Samsung’s Perfect Portrait System. Consisting of Face Detection, Beauty Shot as well as Smile and Blink Detection mode this function has been specifically designed to automatically improve image composition.
It also comes with a Dual Image Stabilisation feature and a Samsung Smart Album feature allows photographers to quickly and easily search for specific images saved on the memory card according to date and overall colour tone, as well as photo, video or voice memo.
Samsung’s WB-500 is available now for $529.
