The new Samsung R series LCD TV, which comes with a built-in high definition digital tuner, promises all the usual high def benefits.
Samsung says the colour depth, definition and TV image quality of the R7 series are the main points of differentiation, with a claimed 5000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 12.8 billion colour resolution. The R7 series also offers a claimed 8 ms refresh rate and Samsung’s proprietary Digital Natural Image engine technology, which the company says offers picture density that is six times greater than a standard LCD. HDMI and PC connectivity options are also in place.
Gamers are catered for with the LCD’s specialized ‘Game Mode,’ designed specifically to complement HD gaming systems such as Xbox360. So what does ‘Game Mode’ actually do? Samsung says it offers brilliant dark graphic enhancement, H-sharpness control, greater response time rates and sound enhancement.
“The high-definition experience is one that really needs to be seen to be believed, with a richness, clarity and reality of image never before experienced on the television screen. As the global leader in LCD panel development and production, the R7 series brings a new level of quality to the high-definition experience,” said Samsung’s Michael Apte.
The R7 series is available in black and white models in 26 inch, 32 inch and 40 inch screen sizes.
