Korean electronics giant Samsung has expanded its line of laundry appliances with stylish and innovative washers and dryers.
Three new washing machines and two new dryers have been added to line-up, featuring modern design and intelligent features, demonstrating Samsung’s claimed dedication to “delivering innovations and products that can improve people’s lives”.
Samsung has focused on cycle speed in expanding its QuickDrive range, with the new 8.5kg models featuring a 39-minute SuperSpeed Cycle.
The 8.5kg models are available in Black Inox ($2499) and White ($2599) and feature 4.5 star energy ratings, making them one of the most efficient 8.5kg models on the Australian market.
The pricier white model features an automatic detergent dispenser that weighs the load and determines how much detergent to use.
The automatic dispenser is also found on the ultra-large capacity 16kg washing machine ($3099), with anti-vibration technology to prevent noise from unbalanced heavy loads.
All three models feature Samsung’s AddWash door, which allows users to add garments during the wash cycle (provided the drum has stopped spinning and is under 50℃).
Samsung has also released two new dryers to compliment the expanded washer range, a 9kg model ($2599) and a 10kg model ($3399) with a Hybrid Heatpump that preheats the drum and recycles hot air to save energy.
The dryers received 7-star and 8-star energy ratings respectively, out of a potential 10.
Both feature Samsung’s “AirWash” feature which uses hot air to refresh and deodorise clothes without using water or detergent.
The new appliances are all supported by Samsung’s Q-rator Laundry Assistant inside the SmartThings app, which allows users to remotely start cycles, as well as download settings for cycles that require extra care.
The new models all come in black thanks to consumer research deeming it “the colour that Australians consider most aligned with modern design”, but still no word on whether the recently announced Champagne styling will be heading down under.
Samsung Australia’s Head of Consumer Electronics Jeremy Senior said the new models help Australians “get more done in less time… so they can focus on more important things”.
