If you paid any attention to this year’s CES, you would have heard the widespread and inevitably-conflicting claims that Samsung, LG or Sony were delivering “the best TV available”.
Now, Samsung have gotten world-class testing and certification association, Verband Deutscher Elektrotechniker (VDE) involved to affirm the supremacy of its new QLED TV range and verify the company’s claims that their displays can produce 100% color volume.
According to JongHee Han, Executive Vice President of the Visual Display Business at Samsung Electronics, “The ‘100 percent color volume verification awarded to Samsung’s QLED TV signifies the excellence of our product and its revolutionary picture quality. As the global TV market leader for 11 consecutive years, we are thrilled to be leading the TV industry into a world of Quantum dot-powered displays featuring the best available picture quality,”
Samsung’s QLED TV uses a new metal Quantum Dot material to overcome the trade-off between brightness level and color volume.
“As the market leader in TVs in Australia, Samsung is excited to deliver the next evolution in television display technology with QLED TV,” said Carl Rose, Vice President of the Consumer Electronics Division at Samsung Australia, said back at CES.
The range of next-generation TVs are expected to hit Australian shores sometime this quarter.
In the US, the range will start at $2500. ChannelNews has reached out to Samsung for Australian pricing and were told local pricing and availability will be confirmed closer to launch.
