The Samsung Galaxy 10.1 tablet, which Apple is trying to get banned in Australia, is about to get Android 4.0. This will be followed by updates for the Galaxy Tab 7.7 and Galaxy Tab 8.9.Samsung has confirmed the roll out of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to several regions including Australia and the UK.
What has not been explained is why it has taken so long to update the Samsung tablet range to the new Google OS.
The move to Ice Cream Sandwich comes as Google starts to release Android 4.1 Jelly Bean on their Nexus 7.
Google has promised to give OEMs a two or three month heads up on future versions of Android such as the upcoming Android 5.0.
