Samsung Australia’s Vice President of Telecommunications, Tyler McGee said that touch was a major driver for the company’s strong performance in the first half of 2009, with its F480 being the number one phone in Australia (April – June).
The Samsung Jet runs on the company’s proprietary OS, has an 800MHz processor, and sports a 3.1-inch AMOLED screen for clear images and lesser power consumption. The TouchWiz Interface is easy to use and creates a dynamic 3D environment controlled by touch and motion. You can simply shake, tilt or tap the Samsung Jet to choose from the camera, music, radio and motion dial feature.
It comes with a new ‘Dolfin Browser’ that allows a user to flick between five windows so that one can chat with their friends while reading a website and upload or download music and photos at the same time. By bookmarking favourite websites you can customise the phone to launch these top five sites each time you log on.
The Jet also comes with a One-Finger-Zoom function that will let you zoom in or out using one finger and a “Smart Unlock” feature that brings up the menu by drawing a letter of the alphabet on the screen.
Samsung Australia’s Vice President of Telecommunications, Tyler McGee said, “The Samsung JET Icon has already achieved phenomenal global success where it has been launched and we believe this has translated into much local anticipation. We’re excited to finally bring this mobile phone to Australians looking for the coolest touchphone technology in a very sleek package.”
