Samsung who have spent the last year building up their notebook offering in Australia is set to launch several new premium models with the launch of a new Q series which come with either Intel Core i5 or i3 processors.
The notebooks, which have enhanced graphics and LED display screens, are expected to go on sale shortly, according to company officials. The Q530 has a 15.6″ HD LED display with a 16:9 aspect ratio.
Samsung said that the LED technology is less demanding on the battery. The Q430 has a 14″ HD LED display and weighs in at 2.09 kg.
At the other end of the scale the new Samsung Q330 is only 1.97 kg and incorporates a 13.3″ HD LED display, it also has a hybrid graphic feature, which allows users to switch between an integrated Intel CPU for shared graphics and the NVIDIA GeForce 310M discrete graphics card.
Running with shared graphics and a 5-cell 5900 mAh battery, the Samsung Q330 is claimed to offer up to 7 hours of battery life.
The Samsung Q530 and Q430 incorporate a NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M graphics card with 1GB GDDR3 dedicated video memory. The new Q Series notebooks also include USB and HDMI ports, a 3-in-1 card reader as well as a built-in optical disk drive.
The new notebooks are also DLNA certified,which allows them to be connected with smartphones and cameras, for instance access.
They also have Wi-Fi Wireless-N and Bluetooth 3.0 connectivity and all of the Q Series notebooks offer Samsung’s USB Sleep and Charge solution, which has the ability to charge devices such as mobile phones and MP3 players, even when the notebook is in sleep mode.
Pricing for Australia has not been announced.
