The BigPond Sport Game Analyser is launched in time for the 2010 NRL finals series and is initially available for Rugby League and State of Origin games. Telstra expects this service to be expanded to include AFL from the 2011 season. (See our original story here).
Telstra’s Head of IPTV, Ben Kinealy said, “Each game is tracked and highlights are tagged so that customers can then skip the boring bits and jump from play to play with a push of their remote control buttons.”
Samsung Australia’s Group Manager for AV, Evan Manolis said, “The launch of this innovative service marks the start of our work with Telstra to bring exciting and innovative internet content to our customers via our Samsung Apps service. BigPond TV Game Analyser provides sports fans with a great tool to relive the highs and lows of a single game or the entire season and all from the comfort of their living room on a big screen TV.”
BigPond Sport Game Analyser can be replayed over and over, and will launch with access to last year’s Telstra Premiership finals series, State of Origin, All Stars match plus all 2010 matches.
BigPond Sport Game Analyser is available now only via the Samsung Apps service on all new internet enabled Samsung TVs and Blu-ray players.
Other TV manufacturers will offer the service at a later stage. The service is free to use for most BigPond internet access customers, however data charges apply for users who are not BigPond customers.
