Samsung has announced two new additions to its Chromebook lineup offering both hardware and software upgrades to push ‘the boundaries of convenience and value for computers’ in the 4 and 4+.
Available in the US from $230 and $300 respectively, Senior Vice President and General Manager at Samsung Electronics America called the Samsung Chromebook 4 lineup ‘a testament to what can be achieved when you’re focused’.
No word yet from Samsung on availability in Australia.
The Chromebook 4 weighs in at 1.17 kg with an 11.6-inch screen, while the 4+ with a 15.6-inch screen weighs only 1.7 kg.
Sporting a ‘simple but sophisticated look of a premium device’, the Chromebook 4 and 4+ both have no visible screws.
Both devices meet ‘ eight military-grade standards, measuring resistance to extreme temperature, dust, and other shocks,’ with an all-day battery life of 12.5 hours for the 4 and 10.5 hours in the 4+.
With up to 64 GB of storage, 5 GB of memory and an Intel Celeron Processor N4000, the Chromebook 4 and 4+ are more than capable of handling HD streaming and word processing.
USB-C functionality provides high-speed data transfers and 4K monitor support.
The included Google ecosystem brings the support of the Virtual Assistant and Play Store for greater functionality.
