Samsung is gearing up to make a major splash in 2019 with significant upgrades in its 10-year anniversary flagship phones, including introducing next-gen 5G capability, bigger screens, and up to six cameras, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.
Wall Street Journal sources claim Samsung is planning to launch four versions fo the Galaxy S10, the most impressive is the “Beyond X” a power hitter that will feature a 6.7″ display, six cameras (two front and four rear) and support for 5G.
Samsung will reportedly unveil “at least” the Beyond X model at an event in mid-February, but its release to the market would depend on the availability of 5G networks.
The three S10 variants are expected to range from 5.8 inches (the current size of the S9) to 6.4 inches (slightly larger than the S9 Plus), and feature between three and five cameras between the front and back, depending on the model.
The designs are no final and WSJ is also reporting that Samsung may include a reverse wireless charging function to allow the S10 range to share battery life with other devices, like another smartphone, similar to Huawei’s Mate 20 Pro.

Samsung and various online leakers have been dropping hints at potential S10 upgrades including Infinity notch displays, AI processors and higher-resolution cameras.
2019 is shaping up to be a big year for Samsung, with the release of its foldable phone, rumoured to be released in March, and this new range of Galaxy S10 10-year anniversary models.
The “Beyond X” is reminiscent of Apple’s 10th Anniversary iPhone X, a major upgrade that pushes the entire lineup further into the future, instead of just knocking out a new version of an old design.
