Announced today, Seagate Technology has launched its DJI-partnered ‘Fly Drive’ in Australia and New Zealand – aptly heralded a ‘drone friendly hard drive’.
The product comes on the back of a rising trend which sees higher than ever data demands placed on drones as users create more content than ever before.
DJI, named one of the world’s leading makers of drones, has partnered with Seagate to create a product which will better allow users to “securely and efficiently store, manage, backup, download and share their photo and video content on location” with a larger storage capability, integrated MicroSD slot, fast transfer speeds and strong durability.
Fly Drive Features:
The Fly Drive comes equipped with the following specifications:
- 2TB capacity – capable of storing over 60 hours of 4K 30fps video storage. (i.e. 250 flights worth of content on a DJI Mavic Pro drone)
- MicroSD card slot
- Protective bumper – aids shock resistance. A USB-C cable is hidden inside the bumper, which is useful for on the spot transfers.
- USB 3.1 Interface – Fly Drive’s USB 3.1 Type-C interface gives faster file transfers using latest generation of Thunderbolt 3 & USB3.1 computers. Compatible on both Mac & PC.
- Free two months access to Adobe Premier Pro CC video editing software.
Seagate & DJI have aimed to create an offering that will allow users to start creating, editing and sharing their videos as seamlessly and effortlessly as possible.
The Seagate DJI Fly Drive is now available for an MSRP of AUD$179 at Officeworks, JB HiFi and Bing Lee and for NZD$199 at Noel Leeming and PB Tech.
