Sennheiser is expanding its gaming headset range with the announcement of the “GSP 670”, Sennheiser’s first wireless gaming headset with up to 20 hours of battery life available from July 1 at $499.95 RRP.
Consumers in Australia who purchase the headset via the Sennheiser webshop will also receive the GSA 50 headset hanger (RRP $54.95) free of charge.
The headset touts Sennheiser’s proprietary low-latency connection that promises a stable transmission with near-zero delay or lag during gameplay — compatible with PC and PS4 consoles.
It ships with the GSA 70 compact USB dongle and features Bluetooth to pair it to compatible devices like smartphones.
The audio specialist is promising to provide gamers with arm, deep bass without compromising the mid-range and high frequencies thanks to the headset’s closed acoustic design.
Users can personalise sound in Sennheiser’s Gaming Suite for Windows which features ready-to-use presets, surround sound modes, an equaliser, and microphone options.
For multiplayer gameplay and voice calls, the GSP 670 features a noise-cancelling microphone that can be muted by lifting the boom arm.
Sennheiser has included the ability for gamers to manually adjust and balance volume levels between gameplay and voice communication to ensure nothing is missed.
The GSP 670 boasts a battery life of up to 20 hours via Bluetooth and up to 16 hours over the low-latency connection allow for long gaming sessions.
When not in use, it automatically powers off to conserve battery life and supports quick charging over USB and can still be used while charging.
The headset does not scream “gaming” with its muted black design.
It is adjustable via its metal hinge system and features cooling suede-like material with leatherette covering to reduce ambient noise.
“The Sennheiser GSP 670 is the result of years of development and is not only our first wireless headset, but also the best wireless headset for gamers to date,” says Andreas Jessen, Director of Product Management Gaming at Sennheiser Communications A/S.
“It combines all the strengths for which Sennheiser is well-known all over the world: maximum wearing comfort, audio performance of the highest level, and clever features that you couldn’t do without,”
The Sennheiser GSP 670 is slated to ship from July 1, 2019, at an RRP of $499.95.
