Sennheiser will release a special edition of its Momentum Wireless headphones to celebrate the launch of a new exhibition on the history of Pink Floyd.
‘The Pink Floyd Exhibition: Their Mortal Remains’ opened at London’s Victoria Albert Museum last week, with Sennheiser working as the official audio partner to create “fully immersive 3D audio experience that brings to life a rich tapestry of sights, sounds and memorabilia from the band’s extraordinary career for the visitors” according to the company.
Sennheiser’s Momentum Wireless headphones have been given a pearlescent rainbow sheen on both ear cups, which also feature Pink Floyd’s iconic “prism” symbol. Rainbow stitching on the leather covering the stainless steel headband is also reminiscent of the cover of The Dark Side of the Moon.
“It is a true pleasure to mark this major cultural event with a dedicated new version of the MOMENTUM that celebrates both design and an enduring love of music,” said Daniel Sennheiser, co-CEO of Sennheiser.
“This is also a wonderful way to continue our history as a company working with Pink Floyd,” Daniel added, referring to Pink Floyd’s use of Sennheiser audio equipment, as well as microphones from Neumann which Sennheiser acquired in 1991, throughout the band’s career.
The Momentum Wireless feature advanced wireless technology and Active Noise Cancellation using NoiseGard technology, along with support for NFC and the high-definition aptX codec.
Sennheiser will release the Momentum Wireless edition celebrating Pink Floyd’s “Their Mortal Remains” exhibition through their website in June. The headphones will retail for $799.95. More information can be found on the Sennheiser website.
