First it was the world’s largest LCD TV, now Sharp is set to launch the world’s thinnest LCD TV. The new wall-mountable 81-millimeter thick LCD television will be launched in August with a 52-inch screen, the industry’s thinnest for its size.
The new 81-mm Aquos G Series LCD TVs will also be offered with screens from 26 to 46 inches. All models are 4 to 9 kilograms lighter than current models and can be mounted on walls a lot easier than current models.
Sharp’s existing R Series 52-inch model is 85-mm thick and is the thinnest LCD TV sold to date with a screen size from 50 to 59 inches, the company said.
It is anticipated that the new model will be shown in Australia by Xmas.
