Sharp Australia has confirmed it will launch a 32″ Ultra High Definition 4K touchscreen monitor in Australia, with the device set to appeal to graphic designers, gamers and organisations wanting “extremely high resolution”.
According to Mark Beard, Marketing Director at Sharp Australia, pricing has not been set for the new monitor, which is tipped to go to market with a retail price in excess of $4,000.
“This is an exceptional product which will be launched in Australia shortly. We are set to show samples in the next week or so,” he said. Production is set to be limited to around 300 units a month.
The new PN-K322B Sharp Ultra HD monitor has a 32″ IGZO display panel which is mounted on an adjustable hinge. This allows the 10-point multi touch screen and dedicated touch pen with a tip width of just 2mm to be used easily across the display screen.
Housed in a 36mm-thick casing, the display has an edge-lit LED backlight, giving it a brightness of 300cd/m2, and it is able to show the UHD video at up to 60 frames per second.
On the back is a DisplayPort and two HDMI and a USB port. There is also an audio line-in, sound is delivered by twin 2-watt speakers and there is extra headphone socket.
