OLED TV sits on 460 crystalsLG team up with Austrian crystal maker Swarovski to create a Curved OLED TV built on a diamond encrusted stand that appears to float on thin air.
The stand features approximately 460 luminescent Aurora Borealis crystals of three different sizes (SS8, 10 and 12), applied by hand using specially made stencils. The TV has a depth of just 4mm (at its thinnest point) and weighs 16kg.
The one-of-a-kind Curved OLED TV will be on display at IFA Berlin which kicks off this week.
The shimmering crystals complement the brilliant colours of the OLED’s self-lighting pixels. OLED screens offer realistic pictures of sharp colours and infinite contrast ratio, but are pricey.
No word on pricing from LG or if the diamond TV will be coming to Australia.
However, the limited edition LG OLED TV will roll out to European customers in the fourth quarter of this year.
It will be on display at IFA 2014 in Hall 11.2 of Messe Berlin from September 5-10.
