We all know how Apple loves to push consumers into their closed eco system where all roads lead to an Apple cash till, now Siri has been trained to extract cash from consumers by only dealing with people who actually spend money on Apple’s new but average Music service.
On Monday it emerged that the voice-powered personal assistant is refusing to answer certain, specific questions from iPhone and iPad users unless they’re on board with the company’s new Spotify rival, Apple Music.
And if you are not you are going to be bang out of luck getting your questions answered.
Maybe someone should ask Siri as to why they work for such a money hungry boss who sells over priced products.
Pandora co-creator Tom Conrad was among those to have noticed the trend.
After asking about the most popular song in the US, he was informed: “Sorry, Tom, I can’t look up the music charts for you. You don’t seem to be subscribed to Apple Music.”
He tweeted:
However, it’s not all cut and dried. Some commenters have pointed out that this particular request won’t yield results even if they are Apple Music subscribers.
Meanwhile, it’s common knowledge that Siri also gleans her musical knowledge directly from Apple Music.
