One of the thinnest phones ever on sale Monday
At 6.5mm slim, Hauwei;s new Ascend P7 is one of the thinnest 4G smartphones around. It runs Android 4.4 .2 KitKat, has a 5 inch Full HD screen and 13mp/8mp cameras.
It goes on sale for $549 at Harvey Norman on Monday but the company is also in talks with various telco’s so may be soon available on a plan, a spokesperson told CN.
The Chinese company has also released TalkBand B1 its first fitness device for $179, today. The TalkBand has a 1.4-inch flexible OLED display is now on sale at Dick Smith is also likely to be bundled with the P7, in the future.
The 5 inch 1080p Huawei Ascend P7 has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 front and rear covers and a swanky metallic appearance, with a seven-layered rear surface with a refined “spin effect” micro-pattern design.
The 4G smartphone was inspired by the natural curves of a water droplet and promises users a comfortable grip.
Ascend P7 has 1920 x 1080 resolution, 445ppi and a 13mp rear camera that works well in low-light, equipped with Sony’s 4th generation BSI sensor, Image Signal Processer (ISP), IMAGESmart 2.0 software. The f/2.0 aperture on its 5P-aspherical-lens means its good for taking pictures at night or indoors.
The 8MP 5P-aspherical-lens front-facing camera is a selfies dream – comes with a panorama function, and 10-level auto-facial enhancement in beauty mode. Users can also take a selfie video with 1080p HD video playback. There’s also a built-in mirror function and a selfie preview window.
It also has 2GM RAM, 16 GB internal memory, Bluetooth, NFC and micro USB 2.0.
The Ascend P7 has ultra-fast 4G LTE speeds and a dual antenna design that improves signal and uses smart network switching technology that stabilizes the connection during weak signal reception to minimize battery drainage.
The P7 has a robust 2500 mAh lithium polymer battery and proprietary battery saving technology.
The new Ascend goes on sale next Monday 18 August at Harvey Norman stores for RRP A$549.
Huawei is now number three player globally in terms of smartphone shipments.
