French Doors are the new “must-have” appliance, says Smeg as opens new 610L fridge.
The ‘French door’ are no longer a ‘replacement buy’ but an aspirational “must-have” appliance says Smeg, as it opens the smart new four-door stainless steel refrigerator with new gen food storage technology.
The new FQ60XPA refrigerator has an extensive degree of temperature and air-flow control and flexibility with a slew of different shelves and temperature options.
There’s a zero temperature compartment for meat, fish to thaw, multi zone area and crisper for fruit and vegetables, with cool air circulation that maintains the humidity and delays shrivelling.
The multi-zone compartment – a new addition to Smegs, can be set at a variety of refrigeration and freezing temps, including a 0 degree setting.
Smeg’s new French Door also has sliding body shelves to access to foods stored at the back plus a rotating middle section that creates an airtight seal as soon as the doors close.
Smeg’s built-in ioniser minimises the amount of bacteria in the refrigerator, also helps extend the life of stored foods.
The FQ60XPA has an LED touch control indicator panel that controls all functions, indicating temperatures and functions in use. Both the economy and vacation modes reduce energy consumption.
Australians are showing a strong preference for the ‘French door’style refrigerator with sales increasing 38 per cent in the past year, and LG, Panasonic have also launched similar models.
The FQ60XPA is 920mm wide and 1825mm high giving a totalstorage capacity of 610 litres – 435 litres in the refrigerator and 175litres in the freezer, and even fits wide platters, says Smeg.
The Smeg with RRP of $3190. also has a mechanical ice maker.
The appliance carries a two star energy rating, consuming 584kWh per year and uses the environmentally friendly R600a gas (low global warming potential and ozone depletion).
