A solar powered boom box that has eight speakers and an iPad attach capability is set to be launched in Australia soon. It will also power a run down phone.Developed by Eton, the company claims that the device is capable of five hours of music on a solar charge.

The Soulra XL, iPod powered boombox formerly known as the Soulra 2 was seen by SmartHouse at the 2011 CES show in Las Vegas. It’s expected to cost around $300. The new model charges twice as fast as its predecessor (five hours) due to a sizable monocrystal solar panel, and lasts five hours on a charge.
