Soniq announced that it has been granted an Advanced Video Coding High Definition (AVCHD) license, allowing them to develop and release products such as video cameras, and AVCHD compatible players in the next coming months.
According to the company, it will begin developing a range of consumer electronics products that feature this technology and will launch them in early 2011.
AVCHD format licenses can be granted to supporting companies for use in technology products and applications across three separate categories: video cameras, players and PC Software.
Jointly developed by Panasonic and Sony, AVCHD is compatible with a wide range of recording media including DVD, Built-in Media, SD Memory Card and Memory Sticks.
Soniq products are exclusively available at JB Hi-Fi stores across Australia.
