“With new Auto Focus Live View, the a350 is the ideal camera to capture that high quality shot as it happens – without interruption from mirror operation. The latest addition to the a system of D-SLR cameras will suit those with a passion for photography, who appreciate easy to use functionality,” said Sony Australia business development manager – Digital SLR Division, John Wallace.
The a350 offers Super SteadyShot image stabilisation and an anti-dust system, the former of which delivers enhanced anti-shake performance with improved control algorithms, enabling users to shoot at shutter speeds of 2.5 to 3.5 steps slower, coincidentally preventing blurring caused by camera shake.
The anti-static coating on its low-pass filters prevent dust build-up, according to Sony.
Unique to Sony, the model also features ‘Quick AF Live View’ technology which fuses the convenience of live image previews with through-the-lens (TTL) phase-detection autofocusing, according to the company.
The unit’s 2.7-inch variable LCD screen has a high 230,400-dot resolution, with a 130-degree upward and 40-degree downward tilt, the variable angle screen allowing for a wider range of shooting angles to give photographers greater freedom and comfort when composing images.
The new unit also features 1200-zone metering and smart teleconverter, a BIONZ image processing engine and ISO sensitivity of 3200.
