The latest Sony Ericsson Cyber-shot addition to the phone market has shown up at the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) boasting a 16.4MP camera.
Sony Ericsson finds its place in the phone market after facing dwindling market share by capitalising on its Cyber-shot camera prowess over touchscreen capabilities.
The 16.4MP Cyber-shot S006 features a 3.3 inch screen and 1GHz Snapdragon processor, with Bluetooth, WiFi and GPS connectivity in addition to being waterproof. The main functionality comes from the camera which uses Exmor R sensors that use back-illumination to aid night time photography.
The phone will see light in Japan next year before making its way to the rest of the world.
