Sony Australia who has seen their share of the TV plunge in Australia during the past 12 months has announced a major shakeup with marketing executive Tony Barbour given charge of the entire Bravia team in an effort to fix Sony’s TV problems.
The Company which is globally reeling from big losses and plunging TV market share has also appointed Seiichi Osao as a product planner for Sony Bravia in Australia.
At the recent IFA show in Berlin Sony admitted that their share of global TV markets had fallen with the Company in Australia struggling to compete up against Samsung. In an effort to fix their problems the Company is investing in 3D TV with new models set to be released mid 2010.
Toby Barbour is currently responsible for Sony Australia strategy as well as the retail channel.
Sony has not said what has happened to the current Bravia TV management team.
