unit doubles as a handsfree car kit. Plus the unit features a front auxiliary-in, so you can plug in any compatible portable music player to listen to music in mp3, wma, aac, sacd or atrac3 format. Of course, the unit can play back CDs and DVDs also. Other head units in the new range also come with a remote control.

And in order to be able to watch DVDs, Sony has also introduced new visual head units including XAVC1 and XAVW1. These feature a seven-inch screen that you install into your car’s dashboard. The C1 is capable of playing back CDs, mp3s and DVDs, while the W1 can playback mp3, wma and DivX formats.
