Sony is set to take down their PlayStation Network for 13 hours today, in what the Company is calling a maintenance program”.
Gamers won’t have the option of playing any games online, checking their accounts, or using services like PlayStation Home and the PlayStation Store. Websites that need PSN, even including the official PlayStation blog, would also be switched off.
The company didn’t have a reason for why it needed the protracted maintenance in the middle of the day. Sony has not had similar long maintenance periods in the past.
Similar owntimes has fueled frustration among gamers on both the Sony and Microsoft platforms.
