Rumours coming out of Sony Computer Entertainment in Europe the home of PAL based Playstation 3 marketing say that the price of the PS3 will be slashed in March 2009 in an effort to stimulate sales in what is set to be a tough sales period.
According to Game Grep a European web site SCEE President David Reeves let the cat out of the bag during internal briefings to PAL subsidiaries that include Australia. It has also been revealed that the PS3 is outperforming the Microsoft Xbox 360 in PAL territories.
Reeves admitted say GG that Sony will be getting more competitive in price with the PS3 from March 2009 onwards.
There sources also confirmed that LittleBigPlanet PSP is definitely in development and that Media Molecule have been working on it for four months. Footage was shown to attendees at the meeting.
It was also revealed that MotorStorm PSP is on the way and ‘target footage’ was also shown to attendees.
GG sources also revealed that God of War 3 was “masterfully shown at the end”. “It looked so good our source wasn’t clear whether it was CGI or not” said GG.
The trailer showed Kratos wielding his swords and fighting off hoards of skeletons and Cyclops’s, before catching a ride on an eagle, and killing it when he got dropped off. The final scene showed Kratos looking up to a long dark, deep cavern, presumed to be Mount Olympus.
