Sony has released a new app that will bring unlimited access to music from its Qriocity music streaming service for users of Android powered devices.
The ‘Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity’ App will stream content from the cloud-based digital music service which holds a catalogue of more than 7 million licensed songs.
Qriocity supports major labels including Universal Music Group, Sony Music Entertainment, Warner Music Group and EMI as well as other independent labels and publishers.
The service can also be accessed on internet connected Sony devices like the network enabled Bravia HDTVs, Blu-ray disc players and Blu-ray home theatre systems. It is also supported by PS3, PSP and personal computers.
“‘Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity’ offers extensive breadth of content, easy music discovery and personalization through a synchronized music experience across a variety of compatible home entertainment and portable devices,” said Kazuo Hirai, Executive Deputy President, Sony Corporation.
The Qriocity service is powered by Omnifone and Gracenote, to bring music identification and discovery technologies as well as a global media database than can enrich subscribers’ experience to discover new artists and albums as well as enjoy their existing music collection.
