Sony Australia’s Product Manager for Cyber-shot, Ervin Quek said, “Bringing the Exmor technology into our Cyber-shot range in the HX1 provides the convenience of a compact camera for users looking for quality images, a good lens and strong performance to complement their active lifestyles. Beyond the Exmor CMOS sensor though, we’ve built other imaging technologies into the HX1 to really enhance the user’s experience, such as the impressive Sweep Panorama mode.”
The DSC-HX1 comes with a 3-inch LCD tilting screen, a mechanical shutter that helps reduce distortion, two scene modes (Hand-Held Twilight and Anti-Motion Blur) which reduce noise, and a new Sweep Panorama function that lets a user take up to 224-degree horizontal or 154-degree vertical shots.
The Sony DSC-HX1 is available in Australia from April 2009.
