Sony has been accused of being out of touch with customers by attendees at the 2009 CEDIA Expo in the USA. To the point that many integrators gave the Company “flak” at the US event.
US Magazine CEPro.com with whom Sony advertises wrote I’d say, give Sony a chance. “They may have lost touch with the custom community over the past few years but the company seems genuinely committed”
During the past week Sony has invested heavily in presenting new products for installers and CEDIA members. They even had a giant wall demonstrating its two-way integration with third-party controllers. Sony products, most notably the company’s new BDP-CX7000ES Blu-ray megachanger, now integrate seamlessly into AMX, Control4, Crestron, Escient Vantage and other control systems.
Neal Manowitz, director of Sony’s home audio and video business, told CE Pro that company’s new STR-DA5500ES is the first receiver certified by Control4 for two-way IP communications.
In Australia Sony who are well known for their arrogance banned ChannelNews for daring to critise the Company.
Now CEO Carl Rose is having to explain why under his management sales of TV’s and digital camera’s are falling.
