Following its unveiling at MWC 2018, Sony has announced its Xperia Ear Duo (A$399) will land in Australia on May 28th.
Sony’s new wireless earbuds feature ‘Dual Listening’ technology, which claims to “seamlessly” blend music with external environmental sounds.
“The Xperia Ear Duo doesn’t block the ear canal, so you can hear your music and the environment around you simultaneously,” Sony asserts.
“Even better, the volume automatically adjusts depending on your surroundings for an optimised audio experience.”
The Xperia Ear Duo supports Google Assistant and Siri, and like its rivals responds to several gesture controls – e.g. music control via quick ‘taps’.
Head nods and shakes allow users to accept/decline calls.

Featuring a “spatial acoustic conductor”, the Xperia Ear Duo ensures sound is “transmitted directly into the ear”.
Made from stainless steel and plastic, Sony’s new wireless earbuds feature a touch sensitive bar which rests under a user’s ear – especially handy for glasses wearers.
Like many of its rivals, Sony’s Xperia Ear Duo comes in a charging case, which provides four hours use on a single charge. The case claims to offer three full charges.
The Sony Xperia Ear Duo is available to purchase from retailers such as JB Hi-Fi for $399.
