Spiral Media and Sony Pictures are launching their first video viral campaign in Australia from 12 January 2009, leveraging the Superwall application on Facebook, which 50 million Facebook users have installed.

“Superwall video is the  number one app on Facebook.,” said Scott Lemos, Digital Marketing Manager, Sony Pictures. “It’s basically YouTube on Facebook boosted by all the Facebook virality. Various movie campaigns in the US have been run on Superwall with great success and we are looking forward to emulating the results in Australia by targeting our movies to the right audiences.”

Sony Pictures were looking for a new and effective way to reach their audiences using social networks which are becoming more significant from a marketing perspective and appointed Spiral Media to implement the campaign.

Spiral Media’s claims it can deliver measurable, innovative and engaging ways to reach audiences on Facebook and other social networking sites.

“Spiral is accountable and delivers creative solutions using display and viral campaigns.  They have helped us reach a very large, targeted Gen Y audience which is great for our movie campaigns,” added Lemos.
